Um... Um.... Um.... Why are those rocks wearing white aprons? Maybe this looks a little shrine-like? There are four bowls in front of the apron-wearing rocks. And then plants in vases in front of that... Is this some fertility ritual?
Well, if you have the answer to what this apron photo is all about please feel free to share with us the history to this mystery...

Charlie Sheen in an Apron
Ever watch Two and a Half Men with Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer? No? Really? Well what are you waiting for? It is hilarious! Charlie Sheen (Charlie) plays an alcoholic womanizer while Jon Cryer (Alan) plays his divorced brother whose ex-wife bleeds him dry financially. Alan does have morals, but is a bit awkward and geeky as well as a mooch (financially speaking). Together they share a condo in Malibu (that belongs to Charlie) and care for Alan's son. Great show, very comical.
I especially love that the writers have incorporated aprons into the show. I love the roosters on Charlie's apron as he appears to be cooking. And Alan's Santa apron with his Santa hat are great. It's nice to know that "Real Men" aren't afraid to wear an apron.......even if it means they only wear it when in character.
If you haven't seen it go to CBS and find out when it is on in your area.

I Just Found the Funniest Site... But I'm Warning-If You're Easily Offended Don't Come Visit.
Close your eyes ye of faint hearts or with little humor. You better drag out your funny bone from under the couch and just laugh at these. It'll do you some good.
I just found the silliest, wackiest, most "I've got to have one," hand made item tonight. I never thought these were possible or even probable, but I am often proven wrong on many things.
The GENIUS'S (four sisters of course) at Dirtydish Towels makes these awesome "rags" to dry dishes. Not that I get drunk cooking, except once, but I love the theme of this dish towel below. Call it a sickness inside me I guess.
The next one is not for the easily embarrassed woman, so close your eyes if you don't want to be offended.
I HATE shaving so this one really speaks to me. I think my husband would flee the house in horror if I handed him this one to dry the dishes.
These dishtowels are really embroidered with colorful, fun, and suggestive sayings and/or pictures. Some are just a bit to naughty for me to post but the "Ho's" who make them aren't holding back. (They call themselves the Four Ho's by the way).
There are many, many other naughty dish towels offered at Dirtydish Towel, LLC and you can browse them HERE.
Now wouldn't ya know.... These brilliant ladies also make lots of handmade APRONS with the same kind of "messages" embroidered on the pockets. Subtle yet so poignant if I do say so myself. Check them out HERE.
Maybe I can convince the Ho's to sponsor a giveaway. I can always try...
But for your laugh of the day, make you way over to the Ho's place and see what all the fuss is about. You'll either be shocked senseless or laugh for a half hour. Take your pick... Then plan who you are going to send a set to for their birthday, anniversary or Christmas.

Gingerbread Aprons in the Spotlight
Meet Cha Cha, she is the mother of 2 beautiful girls and she is one crafty mama too. She resides over a Sit, Relax, and Read. I know the Holidays are over, but I had to feature these adorable gingerbread aprons. Cha Cha made these adorable aprons for her girls and they wear them well!
This lady does everything from sewing to home decor. Right now she is tossing around the idea of opening an Etsy business. Take a look at her tea towels and let her know what you think (I think she is on to something). Aren't they gorgeous? I thought so too.
You should go check out what she did to the wall in Little Sister's room. It went from plain to beautiful. I'm pretty sure Little Sister is proud to have such a talented mom to make her room shine. Cha Cha also shows us how to revamp old shoe boxes so that they are not only functional, but beautiful. You can see how she did it HERE.
If you have a crafty bone in your body you should go see Cha Cha at Sit, Relax, and Read. When you find a craft you like and try be sure to let her know how it went. Head on over and say "HI" to Cha Cha and check out some of the cool crafts she enjoys doing with her girls.

Gingham Life Sponsors a Bungalow Heart Apron Giveaway
Storms are raging on the left coast in California where I live, and I hope you all want to rage likewise over the giveaway that I can announce today, sponsored by Gingham Life.
Owner Sally, has crafted an apron that has been constructed with extreme care and detail. I love the bias trim she has made for this fabric combination! And the heart pocket accent is adorable.
Sally says, "It's a one-of-a-kind apron made in a classic 1940s "one-yard apron" style. I call it a "bungalow heart apron," in honor of the little houses in my garage-sale-crazy neighborhood where I find many of the vintage aprons that inspire my creations.
This apron is made from prewashed new 100% cotton and accented with fabric from a gorgeous vintage feedsack remnant. The bias binding is homemade. It's machine washable; I recommend a delicate cycle and line drying out of the sun to protect the vibrant colors of the feedsack fabric."
This apron is flattering in shape and the pink color will brighten your cheeks with a rose colored hue.
At Gingham Life you can find aprons made from beautiful vintage and new fabrics with wonderful florals, prints, and of course gingham! Additionally, Sally offers other useful household goods like tea cozies and tablecloths. Her garments are durable and meant to be used! By combing garage sales and local thrift shops for inexpensive "finds" Sally makes things that are affordable as well as beautiful and useful.
To enter the giveaway for this lovely pink and floral apron from Gingham Life, visit the Etsy store and browse the selection. Come back here to TAG and make a comment about your favorite. That will give you one entry into the giveaway.
For five extra entries into the drawing create a blog post about this giveaway, leaving your permalink in your comment. Be sure to mention this in your entry.
And for 10 extra, bonus chances at winning send in a picture of you or a family member wearing an apron. Leave a comment that you are sending in a photograph too! (Contact is above) No headless apron wearers please!! We will write up your "apron-ography" in the weeks to come.
Giveaway Closes 2/02/2010.

Show and Tell: Cupcake Tower for Ella's Birthday
It was my not-so-little-baby-anymore, Ella's THIRD birthday on Monday and we made her a cupcake "cake." Ella wanted carrot cake so carrot cake she got! This is the fleet before frosting.
Wearing her apron while we were baking, Ella thinks, "Hmmm...To lick or not to lick? Where do I attack this cupcake?" I could not help but let us *snack* on a cupcake during the baking process.
Then she figured out just where to attack the frosting. Somehow, for Ella, cupcakes are still mostly about eating the frosting.
We bought a special cupcake holding stand which is oh so cool!! Admittedly, I could have tried a bit harder on the decorations. I got a little discouraged with the colors since all I could find at the store were pastel "baby" colors... I am not a decorating genius.
Later after dinner Ella was happy with her special cupcake.
For her birthday we gave Ella a new bunny. She has her original bunny that she carried around since she could grasp it with her little hands on the right. The new bun is on the left (obviously).
I think the three of them are going to be OK together.

Dinner Gone Wrong........ Again!
To my dearest Apron Goddesses~
As a right of passage we must all burn something when cooking or baking.
It appears (Julia and family as my witness) that I burn something fairly regularly. It is always the veggies. ALWAYS.
Sadly, I get distracted and forget all about them.....until I smell something or a family member complains that something smells like it's burning.
Well tonight, my dear Goddesses, I donned my apron and started dinner. Much to my dismay I burned the broccoli.
Again with the distractions......boys arguing, cousins running in and out of the kitchen, talking with the husband, trying to understand why my hood light and refrigerator are not working, etc. It never ends and neither will my burning of the veggies.
See the blackened pan? My boys were relieved, they really didn't want to eat broccoli tonight. Honestly, neither did I. We had sliced avocado instead.
So Apron Goddesses, wear your aprons proudly as you burn your veggies!
Until next time, happy baking or cooking.

Gas Mask, Gloves, Tongs, and an Apron Please!
Bwahaha, this picture make me laugh and brings back a hilarious memory for me. Those of you who are moms will totally understand.
When Jeff and I had our fist baby I was the one who did for the kid. I did it all! I fed him, I dressed him, I bathed him, and yes I even changed his diapers. I got up in the middle of the night to do said tasks. I believe the first time Jeff changed a diaper it ruined him. We were in the hospital and I was walking up and down the halls (as prescribed by the doctor) and Jeff was forced to change Luke's diaper. IT. RUINED. HIM. He had no idea what he was doing and before he knew it there was urine and poo ALL. OVER. THE. PLACE. I had a good laugh when I got back to my room. He handled it, cleaned up the kid, bassinet, wall, floor....you get the picture. From that day forward it was a struggle to get him to change a diaper. When he did change a diaper this is how I envisioned him for all the noise he made while doing it. So ladies train your man early!

I Am Basically Speechless Over These Aprons
I stumbled upon a new apron maker a few days ago who made me stop and stare in amazement. If you have not seen her original work then you need to hop over to Holly Loves Art!! Holly creates one of a kind art inspired aprons with themes from the early 1900's. They are really stunning. Take a look...
Holly's work speaks for it's self. There is not much else I can say about her aprons since each has it's story woven into the fabric with different layers of color, texture and theme. She has even been asked to feature her aprons in the yearly magazine "Apron-ology," which comes out in a few months.
You can see her collection of work at Flicker too. Just click here. Holly Loves Art Aprons at Flicker. There are incredible aprons to see. I am still in awe.

Aprons, Always a Multitasker
Mornin' Goddesses in Aprons! Take a gander at this little beauty.
I have seen my share of aprons, but this has to be one of the cutest not to mention clever. What little girl wouldn't want an apron that is stylish, yet perfectly functional for the coloring guru. If I were a little girl this would certainly be on my wish list. Go check it out over at Chasing Fireflies. You can even have it monogrammed, it would make the perfect Easter gift for that special little girl in your life. Have a great day!

Gotcha a New Gadget!!!
Good Day Apron Goddesses!!!
I discovered a new kitchen tool over the winter break that I wanted to share with you all cause I love it so much. Have you any clue what they are? No, this is not a strange tool for some demented science experiment, it's a modern - retro kitchen appliance! Every PROPER Apron Goddess needs one of these in their kitchen drawer! Hee hee.
Getting warmer? The shiny enamel coated hardware called to me in the grocery store... Why I never found this before is beyond me.
You must know by now what these are. (But did you also notice that my kitchen counters are like 1970 still? Sad but true.)
This is a simple lime/lemon squeezer made in the style of a garlic press. So I guess one should really call this a lime press.
They work amazingly well. I think you can get EVERY drop of juice of of those stubborn limes. I used to roll them on the counter to crush the fibers inside the lime prior to my recent discover but there is no need to do that any longer.
I kept thinking after using these, "Where have you been all my life?"
The lime press does all the work in splendid fashion.
So there you have it!! It's a simple gadget but a beauty in simplicity and function.
My grocery store carried these so I am thinking they are available EVERYWHERE.
I paid about 9.99 each for these little work horses. Yes, a little expensive but it was Christmas. *sigh*
