Happy 4th to San-Dee
and the rest of you apron lovers!
and the rest of you apron lovers!
San-Dee is an apron lover. She loves to sew aprons, join swaps, and alter pre-existing patterns.
Isn't this apron beautiful?
Isn't this apron beautiful?
San-Dee says " This picture was taken when I received my vintage apron swap package. It's reversible, made from a tablecloth, and the creator's own pattern. Of course, since this picture was taken in April, I've had my hair cut and major surgery, so though this looks like me, it's not really me.....more info is available on my blog Sno-Wear. It needs sprucing up, that hasn't happened yet because my recovery has been more intense that I thought it would be. Any questions, just ask."
Well, I asked. San-Dee is recovering from a bi-lateral mastectomy. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in her right breast and what is considered "stage zero" in her left. "Stage zero" is the growth of abnormal cells that could turn to cancer. Instead of going in for biopsies every 6 months she took matters into her own hands and had it all eradicated. Talk about being pro-active!

San-Dee, you are rockin' cancer and rockin' the sewing machine. Keep up the good work. As for the rest of you out there go see San-Dee and wish her a long life of health, happiness, and lots of apron sewing!
