Quick and Easy

This has got to be the cheapest and easiest entertainment. I only do it when the boys have guests over for the afternoon.

When the kids need a little down time from playing hard with their friends I break out the sugar cookies, frosting, and sprinkles. They each get their own small bowl of frosting and choice of sprinkles to decorate as they please. It's quick, easy, and the boys love it.

So tie on your apron and get to baking! It's summer and you know you have a few play dates headed your way.

That is a great idea! I have had cookie decorating shin-digs at my house at Christmas and Valentine's but they are a major operation. I really love this idea of just pulling out the things on the spur of the moment and just letting the kids have at it. Love it!

perfect summer activity...nice enough to send them outside for both the clean up & to run off the sugar :)

Food is good. And decorate you own food is even better.

Suzi-I have a great basic sugar cookie dough that you don't need a mixer for-I used to line up the kids at the counter and everyone could mix their own, then color the dough, then drop on a cookie sheet. Best thing, only makes one cookie sheet of cookies. It's from college when we used to get munchies (if you know what I mean)and I'd be happy to share it.
